To make the excommunication of this Young Israel rabbi (THAT WAS IN EFFECT EVEN BEFORE HE UTTERED THESE HERESIES) appear to be
rescinded, NCYI altered a document the Rabbinical Court had declared to have
been mistaken.

Anyone who wants to know what the Torah really says about prostitution should read Ramban's commentary on Deuteronomy 23:18. It is available in English from Artscroll. (http://www.amazon.com/Rambans-Commentary-Translated-Annotated-Elucidated/dp/1422601145)
ReplyDeleteThe postings here are the opposite of Loshon Hara. They are here to fulfill the second half of this posuk
ReplyDeleteVayikra 19:16. You shall not go around as a gossipmonger amidst your people. You shall not stand by your fellow's blood. I am the Lord.
לֹא תֵלֵךְ רָכִיל בְּעַמֶּיךָ לֹא תַעֲמֹד עַל דַּם רֵעֶךָ אֲנִי יְהֹוָה
Why does the statement "You shall not stand by your fellow's blood" follow the one prohibiting Lashon Hara? According to what I was told by Rav Herschel Schachter (and what Rav Shimshon Raphael Hirsch wrote on this pasuk) it is that you cannot hide behind the claim of Lashon Hara when your fellow Jew is being afflicted! If that were the case then no Bais Din could issue a seruv and the Jewish Press would not be allowed to list those who chain agunot!
